Discovering what love is one day at a time
How simple it is to see the double land that exists in our hearts; the boundaries that are separated only by a kiss. As our mouth joins with the kiss of the one our words declare our fidelity to. When what we speak is contrary to His Word, His perfect love…we can know we are hiding in the land of the enemy of our souls. We can know we have kissed the hand of our idol. We honor God with our lips, and yet our heart is far from Him. How headstrong we are….unwilling to give everything we have. Determined to have our own way and hanging on to a need that we feel we have to protect.
Some people live two separate lives…public and private lives, some are sold out for Christ. Perhaps there is maybe yet just a hurdle… or a corridor that we keep returning to. A place in our heart that we are unwilling to surrender…this raw and tender place in our hearts is a place we hide. Habitually as it is pricked, we are disposed to disobedience. Rather than looking at that place with the Truth of God’s Word over it, we are impulsive, unruly and pig-headed. Our strong mind, decides for us that…nope…not going to’ happen here. We become determined unyielding and locked into place like a mule. We are heedless. We are rendered insolent, foolish and stupid. Oh that we would give ear to His law, and incline our ears to the words of His mouth…that we would arise and declare them to our children, that they may set their hope in God, not forget, but keep His commandments…That we would not be a stubborn and a rebellious generation…but we all would set our hearts aright and have spirits faithful to God. We do not want to be heady or high-minded, unruly or headstrong…denying Him, refusing His love, His hope, His healing, and His sanctification. We do not want to be a people more concerned over our own comfort, than lovers of God. We want to put to death the evil in our hearts, not only for our benefit, but for others. Oh, that we would be single-minded, and armed with the security, strength and efficacy of His righteousness and peace. His loving-kindness is from a heart and mind undivided. It never turns from us, despises us, nor is unwilling to give all that He has. His kindness freely flows to us… Will we love Him with a singular heart?
