Discovering what love is one day at a time
Have you ever used a microphone and had it squeal at you or have the loud boom thing happen. It is called feedback; basically the microphone picks up the output sound from your speakers, and then re-amplifies it causing a loop. The loop is caused by the microphone picking up the original sound and it amplifies it again…and again…and again…and again until the sound cannot be amplified anymore, and something has to give. This feedback has the capacity to blow your speakers or amplifier. It is a serious problem even if it does not blow your amp or your speakers. It’s frustrating to those listening, and causes others to quit listening, or tune out because the sound is distracting, and sometimes painful to the ears. You know you can have a microphone turned on and not be using it and this can happen too, because the microphone is picking up other frequencies….
Interesting… Did you know that you can get a Feedback Destroyer that adjusts your equalizer to block out frequencies as they show up? Introspection is a reflective looking inward, an examination of ones own thoughts and feelings…a lot like microphone feedback. It’s a recycling of the same internal issues… But…spiritually speaking we too can have a feedback destroyer. Jesus Christ. If we behold Him, and look upon Him, we will be changed. For in our own strength our life issues are insurmountable. But God…His arm is not shortened. He does not call us to walk this earth alone, or even to walk through our emotions and attitudes and feelings by ourselves. He calls us to examine with Him our thoughts. He calls us to surrender all to Him. He has destroyed the works of darkness by His death and resurrection. Behold Him. Look upon Him. It is upon turning to the Lord that our veil is taken away. THEN we have eyes to see and ears to hear. Without beholding Him, we are reinforcing unhelpful thoughts, feelings, memories, anxieties and allowing unwanted “frequencies” to be amplified over and over again. Sooner or later something has to give.
