Discovering what love is one day at a time
Humility…it is a gentle word, and a simple and powerful one. It means deference or submission to another even taking the position of second…or last. One who is humble considers others needs before their own and looks for opportunity to serve and pour into others. A person who is humble is not haughty or disdainful, nor filled with any air of superiority, or any confidence in self-sufficiency. Humility is not a weak place; it is a place of enduring strength. Humility is a place of knowing, who you are, who God says you are, and trusting, obeying and resting in God in everything you do. Humility recognizes the inadequacy of the flesh, and the full and complete ability of Jesus Christ.. Humility is taking God at His Word and submitting to that in our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Humility responds in love with the right attitude, and does not have to fight or be on the defense. Humility speaks directly and truthfully and is willing to take a stand out of love for another.
Where am I in this today? “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering…” Col 3:12 KJV
