Discovering what love is one day at a time
“I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints But let them not turn back to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.
Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.” PSALM 85:8-13 “I will hear, “declares the decision, the choice, the active participatory partnership and submission to one option. The option or choice to hear, based on the belief or conviction full of joyful trust in Jesus as the Author of Eternal Salvation in the Kingdom of God, joined with obedience to Jesus Christ. Choice… it is the opportunity to select from various options. The word itself suggests that there is an alternative; if then an alternative, the opportunity to reject one and submit to another. If we reject something, in essence we are throwing it away or even refusing to accept or take for a purpose, consider, submit, receive, admit, or hear. If we select or submit to we are then choosing to yield to the governance of, or the authority of. The work of God is to believe in the One whom He sent. Do we accept all of His Word or only what is comfortable? What about our response? Believing Him is acceptance and action, hearing Him and obeying Him. Do we refuse to acknowledge conviction in our heart, and then put our hope our confidence in that which does not satisfy? What is the object of our trust? If it is not Christ, then what is it? Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14 Today, when we hear His voice, may we position ourselves to hear, and not harden our hearts. May we be well ready to receive with joy the strength, the hope, the deliverance, the restoration, and healing, that He has prepared for us and walk in it.
