Discovering what love is one day at a time
Pride is a roadblock to the unending supply of God’s grace. Pride sets us up as enemies to God. Pride is a complainer. It sounds like “why me?” Pride flaunts, sets itself in the highest position, and says, to God, that "your word is nice…but it doesn’t really work for me, or apply to me." There are many more examples to what pride may look or sound like… but I think we all can relate to having an issue with pride. (If you say you cannot relate, that is pride…just saying) Whether we understand, agree, or submit to God and His Word, doesn’t change the faithfulness of God
and His Word. If you do not believe God and His Word…His Word doesn’t cease to exist. What you and I think, and what we do, do not even compare to God’s thoughts and His ways. They are higher than ours. (Even if His Word offends us, it does not make His Word untrue.) I love the fact that God is the same yesterday today and forever. He cannot lie; He is the Beginning and the End. He is the Way, the Truth & the Life. He IS. He is faithful. He has chosen us, and died for us. He resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. In this we all have a choice. Do we choose to stay prideful and resist God’s grace: setting ourselves up to be friends with the world and enemies of God, or choose to be humble and receive even more grace?
