Discovering what love is one day at a time
Have you ever read a book, which left you feeling excited and content, fearful and apprehensive, or captured and frightened…you know it’s a good book when…you can step into the pages and feel like you are in the story. The words on the page create a world that you can “enter” into… Just like the words in a book, our thoughts can create a place of freedom, or a place of captivity. The beauty of the kingdom of God is that our thoughts do not capture us, but we capture our thoughts.
Have you ever thought about how God looks to and fro about the earth to see whose hearts are turned towards Him so He can act strongly on our behalf? Is it not awesome that God is everywhere all of the time…that He knows a thought before it is on our tongue…He knows the thoughts and motives of our hearts…And all of His thoughts toward us are that of LOVE. He hedges us in behind and before…He has set His protective boundaries of love around us. He has come that we may enjoy life and have it to the full. But we have an enemy that prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Who comes to steal kill and destroy… but God's Word says that greater is HE that is in you than is in the world. In a nutshell the enemy has no power unless we give it to him. Yet Christ died for us that we might LIVE in the power of His resurrection. We simply hand our authority and power over to the enemy when we become deceived, when we believe the lies that the enemy is feeding us, and stop believing the One who is telling us the Truth… Sometimes we do that because the lie is familiar, it’s easier, it costs us nothing, it keeps us in a place of comfort…not necessarily a peaceful comfort, but a place that feeds our flesh, our pride, or our need to be in control or our own definition of it. So…is it then possible that our words that we speak could create a place for a habitation…of heavenly hosts…or that of the demonic nature? Is it possible that the words that we speak, and even the thoughts that we meditate on can create a world that we “enter" into? If God tells us to meditate on whatever is true, noble, pure, lovely of virtue, praise worthy and of good report, that it attracts the blessings of heaven and the action of the heavenly hosts…would not the opposite be true… if there is an area of weakness could not the enemy feed on our negative words…would it not fuel and give permission for the enemy to build the walls of a stronghold in our hearts that is not surrendered to the Lord…building a fortress within...stealing from us and covering the light from within …with each negative thought, each spoken complaint, building up the wall containing the demonic and giving it fuel to live…and causing a hidden infection to breed and infect the heart from the inside out instead of giving life and promoting healing from the inside out? The bible talks about our tongue and the words we speak, not to control us, but to warn us of the dangers that we can cause ourselves and others by the things that we confess… What will you confess? (Ephesians 5:8-21 & Colossians 3:1-16)
